nyc

I have decided to stay till the weekend! I am going to go to temple with Molly and Melissa on Friday so why not enjoy the rest of the week!
I went to Union Sq. and walked through the farmers market, didn't buy much, hard too with no refrigerator in the car:) I hung out in Barnes and Noble to write and eat, yeah B&N gifts cards!!!  I am livin the high life on $30/day:)
Went and saw Step Brothers in the theatre-i love Will Ferrell but dont think it was his best.  Then went and saw Wolf Parade another, more well known, Indie Band and had a blast!

PICTURES: 1) The band, 2)  the floor afterwards..kinda shaped like a heart I think, 3+4) me and Rachel, 5) Rachel, Eva (getting an Education masters with Rachel and making mad $$ as a nanny) and Ben at the concert

I love being able to not have to drive anywhere! The subway is fine, a little hot, but walking helps me exercise!

upper west side

So made it from yonkers back to the city.  Im staying with Rachel from college-go improv!!! I also got to hang out with Molly and Melissa too!!! Yeah MHC!! I am so glad I have friends who are well connected, not to mention able to take me in! The first pic is of Rachel in the kitchen (after i cleaned it :) :)
I went biking through Central Park today.  It was really nice and easy to get to from Rachel's apartment.  I went into the park to get tickets to shakespeare in the park.  Silly me I didnt get there at 8 am, they dont start
handing them out till 1.  I got there at 1:20 and proceeded to bike to the end of the line, then realized it wasnt worth it, not to mention they run out of tickets!! So i hung out in sheeps pasture and read a book instead.  Biked back on Central Park west along the path.  It was a lot of fun, I felt like a local:)

We went to a Indie Rock concert to see a friend's band- Ravens and Chimes- too, I love all the things to do in the city!

New York City!

Made it to the Bronx!! It took 3 hours in the pouring rain - check out the pic! - but i made it! I have to say I just love my new honda fit...check out the pic in the other post, its perfect for holding all my stuff, great to park (especially in the city), and fun to drive!
Im staying with my friend Sonia and her family in the Bronx, then we are moving to Yonkers for a bit too. She took me out last night to the Cubby Hole Bar in the west village. I was properly handcuffed and fed free UFO, thanks ladies for a great time! (Erica and I w/handcuffs)
Friday morning was spent sleepin in, poor me I know:) and then off to walk a dog on the west side of Manhattan. After that I dined on some fabulous street meat, Sonia got hers with way to much hot sauce I think I actually saw flames!
We later went over to Hell's Kitchen and helped her friend move in to a 5 floor walk up, no need to find a gym here! After that cleansing experience we got some pizza and Corona light in spanish Harlem and visited her cousion's electronic store. After waiting out the traffic there, we headed home to the Bronx to shower, again, and then off to drinks with the ladies we helped move. Gotta love payment in food and beverage! The pics are: 1) of me, emily (in navy), and Kristen (who just moved here - in light blue) in Times Square.  2) Sonia, Emily, Kristen, Lynn grabbing some great raspberry beer downtown.
Looking forward to visiting college buddies while Im here. Im taking my time to get a good feel for whether I could live here for a while, we will see....

New Bedford

Hanging with Kat in New Biddy! Although somewhat in the ghetto, New Bedford is the whaling capital! There is a lot of cool history here, and great bars! :) Its only an hour south of Boston and right on the water!
I learned about a really cool website called pandora.com its an online radio website where you type in music you like and they will create a 'station' for you.  Check it out!
We went on a nice bike ride to the coast today, on a bike path over in fairhaven, it was a lot of fun.  It was nice to be able to ride, can't wait to take it on a longer trip!
Should be here for a few more days then on to NYC!!
PICTURES: Left - Sophie driving in her raincoat! Right - the hardware warehouse looking for a 31/2" bolt to stabilize my bike rack :) Super Fun!
